Guys and gals,
Once upon a time I sang the praises of Edatarack as a hosting company. I must retract my endorsement, I'm afraid. Two of my sites went down with no alert that the hosting was expiring.
GoDaddy is my everything of choice. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Looks like I am in good company. I dropped Edatarack over a year ago and went with IX Webhosting. Edata would shut down for server upgrades in the middle of a business day, and once got hit with a easily preventable hack and didn't get back up for 4 days. As an added bonus to their failure rate, they never lived up to their money back guarantee, after I had left.
IX has been great and they back up their Linux servers every night. I love that. |

thanks for the tips, all...I'm with Lunarpages and they give me a heads up way in advance if anything has the remote possibility of getting squirrelly. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

I agree. GoDaddy gets it done. They're pretty easy to work around for email as well. I host my site on GoDaddy and use GMail for my email servers. |

GoDaddy for everything I do... hosting, domains, (at one time) blogging, uploading, ftp'ing, photo-parking... they make it easy and affordable.
Their tech-support is the most awesomest anywhere.... kinda like WordPerfect used to brag about (if you're old enough to remember)....and when you call, it's NOT someone who says he's "Ralph", but sounds like a Nepalese Mountain Guide.

Dave,
I had to laugh at that "Nepalese Mountain guide" thing... because the last time I had to book a relatively complicated air fare I called United Airlines Premiere Exec desk and got a woman who introduced herself as (get this) Betty Ann, but with that Bangalore accent. She was perfectly helpful and we had a nice chat, but the cognitive disconnect between the voice and the name had me smilin' all night.
Hey, not only do I remember Word Perfect, but I still use WordSTAR commands that I programmed into Word! Hah!

Same here for Godaddy and hosting. I use DriveHQ for my online storage/ and client FTP server. _________________ Bobbin Beam

I use godaddy for hosting and domains. I have something like 8 sites on the deluxe hosting and works great. With Linux hosting I can have 5-10 different FTP user accounts which works very nicely. With the deluxe hosting (7 bucks a month) it includes 15 mySql databases which is great for content management systems, blogs and banner ad management. I've also had nothing but positive experiences with technical support. They know what they're doing (99% of the time) and are friendly. Oh - they understand customer service!! |

I still use eDatarack as my host. No problems for me....so far. If I have to change, I'll prolly move to GoDaddy.

Another thumbs-up for GoDaddy and their tech support... it's quite refreshing finding a company that when you call and they know exactly what you're talking about and are happy to help. _________________ Chris Rice - Noisemaker
