Michael...

Great to see you here, although I'm already jealous of someone who's been at it a year, and claims "lots and lots of success".

I wanna know your secrets!

I've added you to my Fellow VO Bloggers and Fellow VO Websites blogrolls on my blog (http://www.courvo.biz).

Both your blog and your VO site are attractive at first blush. I didn't get a chance to dig or listen to anything yet.

I'd like your opinion of CSB, 'cause they're launching a campus here in Vegas, and are asking me to be on the staff as a guest lecturer.

BTW, I'm a graduate of the Univ of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, so you have a long way to go with me to prove your worth ;-}

Oh....and on your blogsite....it's 'without further ADIEU' (not ado)

Actually Dave it is "ado" which means to "fuss" or "delay". As in "much ado about nothing".

"Without further adieu" would mean something like "without further farewell" which, you know, doesn't make much sense Smile

@ bob souer: David Rodwell... does that name sounds familiar? We've met over the internet and he is a really great guy.

@ John Weeks: glad to meet Tennessee voice talent. I'm a member of the Nashville Voice Team with Gary Beaty, Sara Dunn, and a few others. I'll be asking you about things to do in Gatlinburg on my honeymoon. Hope you don't mind.

@indymandy: More than likely, I will be moving to Indy after I get married. Well, maybe the Fishers area or more north in the Elkhart area. I love Indy, it's so different from Nashville (which is a good thing). I liked IU, but I always thought the Purdue was better for a lot of things. I think we'll get a long just fine.

@Donna: My fiance is also from St. Louis, also a great city.

@Courvo: Cool! Yeah, CSB was awesome. You've met David Banner then? He's a great guy. Thanks for the add to your blog. I appreciate what publicity I can get for sure. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you and everyone on the board.

@louzucaro: You are a very intelligent person. We will get along well.

Michael,

I'm sorry, not it doesn't. But, I'm old enough that I've probably forgotten more names of people I've met than I remember. Laugh

Lou....

You are absolutely right, and I stand corrected!

See HERE

Like Michael says: you're a very intelligent person.

Crap! I feel bad....I shoulda known that. But that's Shakespeare for ya!

For the record: 'without further adieu' always made sense to ME!

Michael: 'Never heard of David Banner... some guy by the name Bill Neil has been calling me.

Well, without going into more depth than necessary, here is what the dictionary has to say about "ado" and "adieu":

/əˈdu/
–noun
busy activity; bustle; fuss.
[Origin: 1250–1300; ME (north) at do, a phrase equiv. to at to (< ON, which used at with the inf.) + do do1]

and without further fuss (ado):

a·dieu /əˈdu, əˈdyu; Fr. aˈdyɶ/ Pronunciation Key - [uh-doo, uh-dyoo; Fr. a-dyɶ], noun, plural a·dieus, a·dieux /əˈduz, əˈdyuz; Fr. aˈdyɶ/
[uh-dooz, uh-dyooz; Fr. a-dyɶ]

–interjection
1. good-bye; farewell. –noun
2. the act of leaving or departing; farewell.

Or without further 'farewell'l (adieu) or, "I am out of here"!

Yes, it makes sense, to mean without further delay or pomp and circumstance, with my leaving.

Toodles

Welcome Michael!

You will find this board to be an extraordinary resource. Some of the residents have been doing VO for decades and have amazing credentials. Most of what I ever need to know is right here in the archives.

If you enter with humility, you'll leave with your ego intact Wink
