It takes a few minutes to get your bearings, but the new chat room sure beats its predecessors.

Anyone having luck finding someone in the chatroom.
"Yo! DB, let's git us a chatroom"
Is it like the "must have" child's toy on the 26th December? The child enjoyed the want more than the have.
Any way ......
"Yo! DB. Can we git us a pet Armadillo called Simeon Fruitloaf? We'll look after it and feed it and take it to see the Mudhens or Californee to learn it the British accent and make sure it don't never make no anti American/British/Japanese/Mongolian posts .............WE PROMISE! Can we git one, huh? Can we? Huh .....Really, can we?" |

I have registered, and opened the door to the Chat Room at least 7 or 8 times... nobody was home. Maybe it's like visiting Aunt Catherine... the aunt with the plastic covers over the livingroom furniture that we are not allowed to sit on. I guess that answers my question... "If a VO artist speaks in a room where no one listens, does he still make a sound?"

I've been a part of many chat rooms over the years. One of them was our church diocese youth site. Every monday at 7PM we'd meet and chat.
A Voiceover group is hardly as numerous as...say...Elvis fans. But, maybe we could plan a day and time every week that we meet and chat. We also might want to consider what we would chat about. I have a chat site on my web page. I use it if someone needs to chat and doesn't have MSN or AOL chat. Maybe our chat room is best for occasional help in real time. However, this board is so responsive I've yet to see a question or comment that would require real time chat.

Maybe "occasional" would be better. At least we'd know when to get in... even if you just want to sit in the corner and "listen". The AOVA has a "Yahoo" chat room that meets every Sunday night at 7:00pm (unless it changed).
I guess we have to address this to DB when she gets back from Hollywood... that is unless she gets discovered in a drug store by some "big time" VO talent agent that wants her to voice the next 100 trailers for Universal Studios.............right.

Well there you go. I read this, hopped on into chat. Nobody home. Maybe just a loose "meet" time occasionaly isn't a bad idea. |

I've opened up the chat door a dozen times & only ONCE found anyone in there. I second the motion for a set chat time. Sounds like a good way to round us all up. _________________ Mary |

Anyone know the link to the chat anymore? I think DB moved it somewhere. . .

Like many of the posts here, I too have tried the chat room but no one was in it. Suggestions as to hours, times of chats? Perhaps we could try to choose a few times per day and see if people visit then?
I've been woefully absent of late. Four weeks in Central America, author tour, and now I'm in New York City thru Feb 4 working. But I vow to visit more often. Everyone with whom I've spoken seems to agree that this site is the very best one out there.
Happy New Year to Everyone

Hey-- if you guys want to arrange chat schedules, go nuts.
I can post a sticky note and/or make a schedule on the VO-BB splash page. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Now that the chat room is up and running I wonder if now would be a good time to remind DB of the Lonely Hearts room.
Here we can chat and meet potential romantic partners from all corners of the earth. With a little publicity in the former Soviet Union and other Eastern block countries it could be a winner. What a lovely chat that would be...
Banksey : So Svetlana what are you looking for?
Svetlana: Passport, visa and work permit and not to be shot at by Yuri the sniper who hides in Church bell tower in market place. This he does when I go from my village for to buy cheese. You have photo?
Banksey: Of me?
Svetlana: No of Passport and visa and work permit, this can you send to me with also English pounds in American dollars for my journey to your house?
Banksey: Bit soon for that.
Svetlana: The partisans are give Yuri money for buy bullets for his AK47 support rifle today. My cheese it has many holes. I have luckiness for my bra it is made from kevlar ............................ |
