yeah, i wouldn't call them "notoriously cheap" but rather, i wouldn't (bother to) call them to ask about vo.

nor would i call them a cab.

unless, you know, they were wasted on all that beer mary's not drinking.

I guess I got a bad taste in my mouth when I offered to record a listing for a realtor free of charge so she'd get an idea of how it would sound. Then she sent me a "listing" which wasn't a listing, but a placeholder recording for properties she'd already sold that directed listeners to her website for more info. She wanted this as her "free listing" with the obvious intent of using it on all sold properties.

That and when we sold our first house, all of the realtors we interviewed whined about how expensive it was to represent a house, when all we could see them doing was making some color photocopies.

Then again, I guess we get annoyed when clients try lowball us since all we're doing is "talking into a microphone".
