Here is my brand new RI demo. This one is hot off the presses.
RI is a new direction I'm trying to go in, so I would appreciate any feedback, comments or suggestions you may have regarding this demo.

Thanks in advance.

I like the tone of your voice and your reads, so there's that Smile

The vocal needs to be hotter, comparitively, in the first segment...it's way too low and hard to hear / understand.

The whole thing sounds funky, though, in terms of the audio quality of your voice...it sounds like it was recorded to hot or overprocessed or something...I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound right (whereas the audio and effects sound like I'd expect them to sound).

Lou kinda sums up my feelings here.

I'd lift your vocal track a bit using EQ, see how that plays. Lower the background a smidge to help make it more prominent.

There's some distortion I'm hearing in this too. particularly in the middle spots (I felt it was most prominent there). Could be the mic, the preamp, or the levels at which you were recording.

Could also be my ears. YMMV Wink

Thanks guys for the input. The audio I recored was pretty raw and lacked any distortion, so the distorted sound is based on the post production of the demo. I'll have another listen and pass the comments on to the folks that are helping me with this.

Also, I would like to give a massive Shout Out to Frank F. for smacking me around on the phone with this demo. I wish I had spoke with him before I started this process. Frank gave me a number of things to work on and to talk to the people who are working on this. I image there will be a completely different iteration of this demo in the near future,

Again, thanks to all.

Jon,

I've received one of those "demo phone calls" from Frank, too. Always good stuff, but not always entirely fun. Though Frank is consistently kind he's also willing to tell the truth.
