hey Deebs, I got the "kook" thing from the first one... not directly from your's (I hadn't made it down that far).
Oh... what about reducing the reflection a tad... maybe it's the monitor here, but it looks too... something. I had to look closely to notice it, but yeah. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

all y'all make me laugh and smile....
DB...thanks for the different renditions... it added perspective...
Yoda & Doug...I specifically ASKED for the reflection, so no...I'm not going to axe it...
....it's an "eye of the beholder" thing... no hard feelings...
Jim.... I think adding a third color (red) would ruin the symmetry... but I lingered on that thought-image for quite a while....nice suggestion
Where this all started: I get a call from a young man who claims he was one of the kids I profiled on my weekly "Wed's Child" TV features from 1986. I took him to a a local Triple-A baseball game....and bought him a hot-dog in the story. He was looking for a Big Brother. "Do you have a copy of that story?" he wanted to know.
'Turns out I did.
Also turns out he works for a local company that does SEO, Website Design, and a lot of other marketing things. We met for lunch. I give him the DVD, and we talk. They want to use me to help build their local business. I tell them I'm limited by my TV contract in being able to endorse, but I can give a "testimonial" or two, and would be happy to barter some voice-work for some help with my website.
The kid looks at the DVD about a million times with his family around him (his mom recently died)... and tearfully calls to thank me.
Their CEO gets to work calling their freelance graphic artists, and this is the 4th design they came up with. I haven't spent a dime, and they won't even listen to what I might be able to do for them until they take care of me. Go figure!
Life has interesting twists and turns.
Again.... thanks for the feedback everyone.... I'll pass it along to the artist, who would probably love to have more work if anyone wants to use him. I can get the contact info.

I LOVE it. all of them. I love the last one (the second of Deebs versions) a little more than the others. It's the symmetry. I also love the way the volume looks like a city skyline - and you ARE a major market anchor aren't you? |

Nice backstory Dave. I'm a firm believer in Karma and this is a wonderful example.
That logo simply ROCKS! Looks like a VO version of the Frasier show open. Got a link to your designer? |

I'm changing the spelling of my name to SteVO so I can get a logo like that. Who do I call? Seriously, it looks great.

Wow, that's a great look! So clean and impactful. The only thing I can add is that I like the speaker in the 2nd "O" but maybe to try having it shaded with a bit of the grey so it doesn't stand out quite so much. But it really does look fantastic! _________________ Chris Rice - Noisemaker

What a great story. Wow.
Now, you might not still be looking for opinions, but I'll throw mine out there.
After seeing all three versions, I REALLY like DB's version #1, with the dots in just one "O", and leaving the VO part clean and blue. I think it helps the VO part stand out.
However, they're all EXCELLENT. I'm seriously jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

Dave, Caryn is right. The logo is a killer! The only thing that kept on popping in my mind is that the logo as a whole is SO classy and upper market, you can well do without the (in my eyes a bit less classy) pictogram of the speaker. People are well aware you're THE speaker, so I agree on Deirdre #1 as well. Using only that waveform/skyline/column thingy (see? I can already name a few things it's saying) is an eyecatcher for you can see in there what you want it to be, thus making it sort of myserious... and all within the strongest logo I've seen in a long time. In the eyes of upper market broadcasters it will look expensive to their liking and appealing to their own high standards, the rest (of us) will just think it is very stylish, way cool and perfectly balanced as a company 'businesscard'. A definate keeper logo!!

Hard feelings? Not even a possibility! Plus, logos are all about "the eye of the beholder." And since you're going to be-holding this one, it's all up to you.
Personally, I've always thought that "Too many cooks spoil the broth" is especially accurate when talking about logos, but hey, you asked...
All that said, the logo is an absolute stunner, and you won't go wrong regardless of which version you end up with. Congrats! _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)
