It's actually better than I anticipated, so I'm happy.

Also, I'm listening lots of Thurl Ravenscroft thanks to Brian at Dexter Media via WFMU...

Wow..... I must be way off. I'm listening to WORK. I've downloaded some demos and I trying to find a voice for a particular client while I'm on the way to the next meeting.
Is that an abuse of my MP3 player privileges?

Hmmm... well, you won't be overwhelmed with my intellect via my music choices, that's fer sure.

Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Natasha Bedingfield, Lily Allen, Snoop Dogg... ok, I'll stop now.

....wasn't that in 1982...?

Yeah, I'm that out of touch.

I was listening to Eddie and Tracy on WLW but they put some economist on who was so depressing about his outlook for the U.S. economy that I refused to listen anymore. IMHO that kind of drabble only makes things worse...

Caryn: No shame in the top 40! I love all those peeps too Smile

Dave: Impressive! You even have Of Montreal??!! I have to say I was pretty disappointed when they turned one of their songs into an Outback jingle, but they're still a good band.

James: MIKA ROCKS!! I can't count how many times I've listened to Grace Kelly alone . . .

Right now I am addicted to "Squeeze Me" by Kraak & Smaak and that song "Move Your Feet" that Junior Senior released in '03 or so (and which also has a great animated music video that I've linked to below). They're fun & catchy songs-- definitely check 'em out!!!

I listen to all sorts of weird music--it's kind of an obssession, actually. At least once or twice a month I spend about a five hour block of time searching online for--and spending too much money on--new music. I like a lot of indie folk & rock, lots of top 40 stuff, "oldies" (Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc), classical--pretty much everything but mainstream country, which drains my will to live--but today I was scouring iTunes for French and Scandinavian electronic/dance music.

As far as music, I've got a super weird mix. I shuffle my playlist so a song from any of the following might appear:

The Corrs (yeah, I like some girl music. sue me.)
Fishbone
Rockapella
Take 6
The Blenders
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Public Enemy (yeeeah boooyeee!)
Chemical Brothers Greatest Hits
John Barry: Moviola
Avenue Q

I'll listen to darn near anything a capella..

Jeff . . . is it bad that I snickered a little bit when I read Rockapella? I just remember them from that kid's gameshow, "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" That's okay--I listen to Hilary Duff and Hannah Montana (yeah, I said it), which are both much worse. But there's nothin' wrong with a little "girl music" Smile I think Summer Sunshine is my fave Corrs tune (not that I know that many of them, but I just love that song).

James . . . you're in Japan?? Please, oh please, can you recommend some fun Japanese music?? The iTunes store here in the US doesn't have that much, and I don't really even know what to look for. I already have some stuff by m-flo, Ayumi Hamasaki & Utada that I like but not sure what's out there beyond that . . .

Rockapella will always be known as the Carmen Sandiego group. But alas, they've got a much bigger repertoire than that. I much prefer "Zombie Jamboree". Smile
