When I was the Production Director, we had a new car dealer that insisted coming in to voice his spots....
The spots started off with "Hi, my name is....."
NO lie:
It took him 52 TAKES just to get his name & dealership right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was over 15 years ago...and I STILL remember the agony!
Jocks voiced his spots from then on.

jocks??? doing ads???
when i worked in chicago jerome walker (walken) ??? played for the cubs in the early 90s - i'm sure SOMEBODY knows, as i have blocked it out ... any-HOO, he comes in to do a testimonial for the "super-grip-ball" not an easy thing to say several times in a row for ANYBODY - for jerome it was IMPOSSIBLE! spent an hour in the studio TRYING to get enough syllables in a row to stack up to 30 seconds.
one of the worst (and funniest) production stories i have.
