|
|
Hey all,
Can someone please tell me what a fantasy Tutorial Voice is? This is for a videogame company that is considering me as their 'Tutorial Voice 1" for a new project.
I don't want to mess up this opportunity. So if some folks could get back to me ASAP it would help tremendously!!!
Take care,

"Tutorial" means educational...that you're explaining something to your audience, which could be children, doctors, welders, whomever. The word "fantasy" adds all kinds of potentially interesting dimensions. Hmmmmm.

I don't do games, but my guess would be that the fantasy tutorial is the voice who 'splains how the game works? _________________ Moe Egan

I saw that same post. Not much to go on with those specs, either. In which case make your best choice and let it rip! _________________ Bobbin Beam

The Tutorial voice is a teacher's voice in one aspect or another. It may be throughout the game or just in the beginning.
This is one of the voices that explains the mechanics of the game, and possibly describes some of the fore-story.
Sometimes it's just an unseen narrator, but other times it's a character. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Thanks so much everyone! I can't imagine what I'd do without the assistance of this board!!
Philip, thank you for the sound file, that helps A LOT. I have some ideas now.
Take care all!

I'm doing one right now that has a "tutorial" VO and the direction I got was to make it sound as if I'm talking with a person across a coffee table about the topic. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

CC, is the turtorial for The Kingdom videogame or is it a different project? Because my directions are to sound calm with a fantasy style feel to it.

Hi,
it's for a radioplay that a group is producing; it's a sci-fi project, but they wanted the tutorial "narrator" voice to be calm and personable, as if divulging interesting information to good friends.
