OY. This is way more insane than when Apple sued the city of New York because the city's "go green" logo apparently looked too similar to apple's own logo (it didn't, and I'm pretty sure NY was the big apple long before mac existed). Anyway, it's my understanding that one of the ways you can lose a patent (trademark?) is to fail to defend it against infringement, but going after anyone and everyone that uses a common word that happens to be in your company's name is ludicrous and reprehensible. How can Monster Cable sue the Red Sox for using the term "monster" anyway? Wasn't the green monster around before Monster cable (considering the fact that the wall was painted green in 1947)? And if so, shouldn't the Sox be suing THEM by their own moronic logic? How do these people sleep at night?
