Bob,

I sure would love to attend the meeting. My only problem is that I get up at 4AM to be at work at 6 (I do however get off at 3) so late night is right out. What time do you all plan to meet?

I work until 6pm, so that's the earliest I could break away to meet folks before we tour the studio. I imagine the tour will take 30-45 minutes, then we can head out to dinner around 7-ish. Just wild-guessing so far....

Ron,

If you can join us for the early part of the evening, you'd be welcome to cut out any time you need to. It would be great to meet you even for a little while. We'll just make a point of taking the photos earlier rather than later, so we have something to post here.

Do you think that could work with your schedule? Meeting with Justin at his office around 6:00 PM or so. Touring his place. Then, if you can't afford the time to stay for dinner, just grab a quick bite or something to drink and leave whenever.

As they are fond of saying in one of the popular card games named after this state. "I'm all in".

Looking forward to the VO equivalent of my "brush with greatness". Wink

Ron,

Yes, Justin is going to be there. I'm just glad I get to be a part of this shin-dig too. Laugh

Bob: Dude, you crack me up... Smile

Ron: Woohoo! Glad you're able to make it! I'll try not to let the tour lag so we can get to dinner sooner rather than later.

Speaking of dinner, I've got a few places I've been thinking about, but I'll start that discussion via email so we don't take up too much thread space about it.

A wonderful time was had by all in attendance during our VO get-together in Dallas Wednesday evening.

We kicked things off with a tour of Justin Barrett's workplace.

Justin was a very gracious host. Here he pauses right after demonstrating one of the test renders being done for the soon-to-be-released Open Season II.

As we got ready to walk down the block to dinner, we stopped for a photo in the lobby at Reel FX. First a shot of the group that I took.

From left to right, that's Amanda and Allan Peck,Justin Barrett, Vicki and Ron Phillips, Amber Cotton and her husband J.D. Then, Amanda was nice enough to snap a shot so that I could get in to picture.

We ate at a wonderful grill restaurant just one block from Reel FX. (I'm sorry about the red-eyes in the photo. I don't have the tools here on the road to clean them up.)

Luciano, our waiter was nice enough to snap that shot of us. After that, Amber, who works for Radio Disney, took us on a tour of their facilities. We close with a shot of Amber's production room.

My thanks to Justin for helping to organize our visit together and to everyone who took the time and effort to join us.

(edited to correct typo. Thank you, Justin!)

'Twas indeed a most excellent evening! Great company, great conversation, and great food (although rumor has it the flourless chocolate cake was a let-down). I hope to post a couple pics in a day or so.

Kara,

It was so much fun to see the place where you used to work. And to meet Amber, knowing that the 2 of you used to work together. What a small, cozy place our VO world is.
