Too much information. Take your sexiest selling point and major on that. Unless you know your market will be impressed by a "Voicey Award" I wouldn't waste too much time on that. Hope that helps. |

Jeff,
Just curious as to why you don't use e-mail at @jeffreykafer.com? _________________ Lou Zucaro

Is this a solicitation for new business?
Where is your "call to action?"....oh, there it is at the bottom of the shaded block.
Right now it looks like a very nice ad for Answerstv.com (which is voiced by Jeffrey Kafer.)
Perhaps change the emphasis to something like "Put the same voice of Answerstv.com to work for you." or "Get the Voice of Ans.... to work for you."
Make it easier to get the information that makes them call YOU.
Postcards and billboards--you have 8 to 13 seconds to give them a reason to call you...and then it's in the file 13. Start with benefits to the reader.
Really nice work, Dude. Let us see the final decision. _________________ Wild Willie Edwards

Hey Jeffrey!
It's really not bad!! I do agree with the other comments here. Less is more! A quick glance and they should "get it."
To help organize the real estate of the postcard, and get the sizzle across without all the words, think of using the logos of the companies you've worked for to establish that info.
Also, e-cards are huge here in LA. Using the same design branding of your postcard, which for consistency in branding should also reflect your website, the e-card has embedded links folks can click to get to your website, demos, agent's email, even a sample of the ad your are promoting. A good agent will not only encourage e-cards, but they will also do the sending duties to their contacts/buyers. This way, you don't get the blame for the mass e-mailing. Plus, a good agent is trusted by their buyers when promoting their clients, no matter the format.
I myself am not as panic stricken about e-promotions as others. I know many feel any kind of mass emailing ranks just above murder or embezzlement. Personally, and this is just me, what is the different between going to your mailbox and having to schlep back 50 CDs or 100 postcards?? With the numbers of people daily getting into VO, buyers and agents get on average over 100 demos every week. E-mailed marketing is easier to get rid of if one isn't interested, plus it's less cumbersome.
But again, this is just me. I can only advise based on my personal results.

Jeff,
I think it's much better!
I'd just change the "Put the voice of AnswersTV to work on your next Project" to
"Have Jeffrey Kafer be the voice of your next project"
It's the center of the Postcard and you want YOUR name there...but that's just my opinion....disregard at will!

that's an awesome idea. so where does one get these e-cards? are they something you've made yourself? i assume you're not talking about hallmark e-cards. _________________ Jim Feldman

Jeff,
I think the new card is a huge improvement. My one hesitation is over the color (colour, for our friends to the North and across the pond from us) scheme. I assume you picked these colors because they're consistent with the AnswersTV.com site; but I wonder if this wouldn't work better if the card were designed with your brand's color scheme? _________________ Be well,

Jeffrey:
I like you, I hate your postcard design.
Why?:
* Short shelf life
* Promoting the wrong thing
* Unfocused marketing message
But I don't offer a problem without presenting a solution which I hope helps.

I think Peter's suggestions are excellent for all the reasons he said. Promote Jeff Kafer more, AnswersTV less.
As to the ePostcard issue, I had my designer make one up for me, and just change the text on it when I send out a new one. I am thinking the consistency of my logo and everything would be helpful. I'd post an example, but...I'm an idiot. _________________ We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

I appreciate you taking the time to mock something up, Peter. I think there some good ideas I can borrow/steal from it. I'll post the next round.
Thanks everyone! _________________ Jeff

Well I guess it goes without saying that I like it
Also on the flip side of the card, don't forget to give them a call to action or incentive of some sort. _________________ - Peter
