Ray,
I've worked in the toy biz on and off for the last 5 years or so. A company I was a partner in manufactured some vinyl toys. Artist-wise, we worked on a number of things with Tim Biskup (Gamagon, Ghonner, Lily, a few others), and we were middlemen in a few projects such as the Tim Biskup Decoplague Qee 8" vinyl.
Another vinyl we did was a little guy called Mister Monster, and we did some for bands such as Good Charlotte, AFI and Green Day.
I still do some consulting in that business and have a bunch of contacts both here and in HK / China to get stuff made. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Add me to the list of people who think this isn't a great idea.
For a face to face meeting it could be kind of "cute", and might strike up a conversation, but ABSOLUTELY NOT for a cold submission.
When I worked at Abram's I would listen to every MP3 that got emailed to the agency that day. I felt it was my duty to make sure that no "diamond in the rough" slipped through the cracks. As for the CD's that got mailed to us, it could take months for me to get to one. For whatever reason, while working 60+ hour weeks, the time it would take for me to open an envelope and any additional packaging, would instantly kill any desire I had to listen through demos.
Over time, I decided that my time was better spent working for the clients we had, then opening the mail.
Something like this USB tape thing, would be good for a chuckle, after sitting in a box for weeks gathering dust... _________________ Hey! Whaddaya hear?

Thanks to everyone for the great input! I had a hunch it wasn't gonna fly, but it's great to get the added input from others' experience. _________________ Justin S. Barrett

I agree with the others, it's a bit over the top....BUT, if i saw a 'Naruto' one or a 'Dolphin' one, I might put my hand in my pocket, for one for my personal use! _________________ Intuit and do it!
