Possessing 0.6% of the American car market puts them in the obscure category for me ( http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3022-autosales.html ). I can name most of the Chevy, Ford, Toyota and Honda models off the top of my head but not one Mitsubishi.
With a name like "Three Water Chestnuts" (translation of Mitsubishi), how could one go wrong?

hey, it's worked for them for over 100 years (they are the oldest of the Japanese car manufacturers, or am I confusing my late-80s commercials?).
I didn't realize they had that low of a market share though... explains why so many of their cars are found in rental fleets. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

All I know is that the Evo is one of the most sought-after customizer cars these days thanks to its World Rally Championship heritage (the most common "rival" being the Subaru WRX).
The Eclipse has enjoyed similar status (as a customizer car) for nearly 20 years. _________________ Lou Zucaro
