From the bottom of my blog:

"It is by Coffee alone I set my day in motion. It is by the juice of bean that coffee acquires depth, the tongue acquires taste, the taste awakens the body. It is by Coffee alone I set my day in motion."

\full disclosure

For the geeks among us, this is a take-off from a mantra said by Piter deVries in the Dune miniseries: It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. "

I found a similar quote in the comments for an image on LOLCATS, found here: http://icanhascheezburger.com/2007/02/07/the-spice-must-flow/#comments and then adapted it for Coffee...

\\Full disclosure...

yessss..... I AM a geek....

Courvo, are we related? I'm not really a coffee or wine fan, either. But I have been known to imbibe one or the other once in a great while. Strangely enough, my fave ice cream flavor is...coffee. No surprise, then, that it's milk chocolate all the way for me. Dark stuff is too bitter.

I do like wine, so I can't really join in on that part of the 'blechfest'.

Big, spicy reds. Mmmmmm, yummy! Don't enjoy it often, but when I do it's a good thing Smile

I'm on board with the coffee haters--love the smell, hate the taste

Ray, maybe try adding a little half and half and sugar to some stout brew...it transforms the taste if you don't like it black...then again, if you don't have the coffee habit that might be a good thing..

Myself, well, I tried giving it up a time or two, but to no avail. Used to keep Starbucks in business, but discovered that some Cafe Bustelo/espresso grind or Folgers Black Silk in my lowly Black and Decker SmartCup brewer(brews 3-5 cups instead of a whole pot) is better than anything the java
moguls can come up with....MMMM...seeya, time for my daily fix.... cool

Oh yeah, has to be STRONG...can't stand typical weak American java...

Coffee lovers ALWAYS tell us non-believers that if we just add this or that it'll hide the taste.

If you have to hide the taste, why drink it?! I can just drink milk if I want the taste of milk.

The worst is when we, against our better judgment, get duped into trying some chocolate or ice cream that clearly states "mocha" or "coffee" or "cappuccino" because the person, who we trust, says "Oh, you'll love this...it doesn't taste like coffee at all!"

One little taste and BLECH-O.

You people, sheesh.

A nice medium-roaat Kona is heaven (although pricey)...but my preference in the morning is freshly-ground beans from my favorite gourmet coffee -- A & P Eight O'Clock.

Something to ponder.
Think Hershey baking chocolate... now think Hershey chocolate bar.
Same flavor... one is bitter... one is better.

When we were serving time out in Southwest Kansas, family and friends always knew what to send me...coffee from Starbucks, Seattle's Best, or the Coffee Cottage (independent shop in my college town of Newberg, OR). I loved it! Coffee snobs would have a hard time in that town, as the closest Starbucks was 160 miles away in Amarillo, TX.

As a matter of fact, got early father's day card yesterday with Starbucks gift card in it! After the kids and I had breakfast, we took a stroll down the street and I'm finishing my drink as we speak (type).

Just a house drip, with a touch of half and half. Simple.

For a very yummy start to the day. Take a cup and fill it to just below the half way point with milk and heat it in the microwave.

You then need

and one of these
