Less than a month to go for VOICE 2008...

I thought I'd initiate another thread (like last-year's VOICE thread with a record-setting # of posts: http://www.vo-bb.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3053&highlight=)...to get to know everyone who's going, and perhaps plan some social moments around what little spare time there is.

So....R U goin? Excited? Sorry? Expectations?

Want to take time to hoist a....er....uh....Pepsi?

Ok, I'll share! I can't wait to meet you Courvo!!!!! Can I get a photo with you??

So, here's my plan:
Arrive Wed. around 11 am. Have a meeting with XXXX (not telling) hopefully that day or Thurs.

Around that meeting, I want to do some sightseeing b/c I'v never been to LA, and I might get a private tour of Paramount if things work out. I hope! I wanted to go see The Price is Right (the announcer, Rich Fields, is a Gator!), but they're not filming while I'm there, I don't think.

Obviously, you know what I'm doing Thurs night, Fri, Sat. and Sun.

When I'm not in sessions, I'll likely be either a) at the pool getting my energy from our planet's yellow sun or b) at Randy Thomas and Peter Rofe's booth, hanging out or c) at the gym getting some exercise or, oh yeah, d) working. I'm not bringing a portable rig though, so I think I'm out of the workforce those few days.

I leave Monday am so I'm missing the closing sessions.

Let's get together though. Will I see you on the Red Carpet?? I think that's where most of us will meet up, it seems.

I've heard it's the X Bar on Saturday night after 8PM, when the day's sessions are over. Courvo I'm looking forward to seeing you & Kara again & Caryn & Yoda-, it'll be be nice to finally meet.

I'll do my very best to be at the X Bar on Saturday night after 8 PM. I look forward to seeing you, Dave, Caryn and as many others as can be there. I would hope that even VO-BB folk who aren't attending VOICE could join us there, right? (Assuming they are in the area.)

The X Bar is an indoor/outdoor venue at the hotel, Some folks may want to venture outside the hotel, too. But for those of us who need to get to bed early or are just too wiped out after being at the sessions all day may find it a convenient spot to hang out, for a while. There's also a less expensive alternative--- a mall with food court across the street. I've heard the food court is pretty cool- not the usual stuff. Also nice restaurants & bars are over there, too. It's gonna be fun to investigate. Of course there's that huge pool, too. Lotsa places to just...lounge and vegetate.

Since we're taking the red-eye home Monday night, Eric and I could probably catch the first couple of innings with you. But, then we'd need to get to the airport in time to catch the flight home.

Let's look at public transportation options and reassess from there.

Depending on things, I might choose to forego my stay on Tuesday and return early as well (if there's no reason to be there, there's no reason to pay for a hotel room).
