I'm hesitant to (as Groucho Marx would say) "join a club that would have me as a member." But, I believe I am one, though I don't understand the point of "LinkedIn."

I know, personally, I've grown tremendously spiritually, emotionally, and psychotically in all my 137 social networking sites and groups.

But please, respond only on Plaxo, Multiply, or Ecademy if you have a comment...I get more points that way.

Never quite understood people wanting to ignore each other on a multi-platform basis. I think it's called networking.

I'm a member of Linkedin, but the big question is...am I member of the Linkedin VO Group? And...do I have to register again, and come up with another password I'll forget?

I've enjoyed LinkedIn b/c it's allowed me to catch up with people I used to work with in the corporate world.

However, I gotta tell you, I just can't join anymore online networking sites, other than those I already belong to (and I can't even keep up with those). I can't keep up with them all. If we're all on the same one, why do we need multiple, right? You know where to find me. Smile

I like it because I can connect up with some clients and their contacts who are also on Linked In, and I prefer the more corporate feel of the site than for the more social ones like Facebook or MySpace. The VO group is a nice extra. Thanks for setting it up, Lee.

The big question I have is, how can we work when we're socializing all the time? I too am on plenty of 'em. I mean, it can be addictive, and can definitely suck a ton of time from your day.

Being former management and overseer of employees, I must keep disciplining myself to stay on task.

A quick search reveals that, among the participants in this thread, Peter O'Connell, Colin Campbell, Dave Courvoisier, Diane Havens, and I are members of the Voice Over Professionals Group, while Philip Banks, Drew Hadwal, "Bailey," Caryn Clark, and Bobbin Beam have not yet joined but, as they say in those junk-mail credit card offers, "your approval is guaranteed."

I would join... (because it's free)... but unlike others who have not joined, because they have so much damn work they can barely find time to eat and sleep... I, on the otherhand, am due for my hourly hard-drive defragging.
