The animated comic that I had a role in, "Invincible", has been airing this week on MTV2, it was exec produced by the MTV New Media division and produced by GAIN Interactive. I had a small part, but am indeed in the credits, and it was quite a kick. The lead on (TOS I believe) specified LA actors only, which put me off, so I submitted anyway with an explanation as to "There are lots of good voice people outside LA, why not give us a shot...", then to my surprise they came back saying they liked my voice, and could I come in for a table reading....Doh! THAT's why they wanted LA folks, cause MTV wanted local folks and to be at the sessions etc...I thanked them for choosing me anyway (thinking to myself that at least I was able to successfully compete with LA folks), and wished them the best with it. A month later, they got back in touch with me that they really liked my take on it and were going to try to get MTV to go with the idea of taking me remotely...which ended up happening - I recorded my lines right here in my home studio with GAIN folks on the phone, and sent em the file. Bout 6 months later the series is done and really getting out there! I have a small but ultimately important role in the series, twas a lot of fun doing it here, then seeing it this week...
More info is at www.invincibleseries.com - may I say, WooHoo, my first TV credit! _________________ Chris Mezzolesta, Voice Talent

Chris,
Good for you. By the way, the TOS thing isn't necessary here. The VO-BB won't censor your post when you type Voices.com (or Voice123.com, for that matter). _________________ Be well,

What is "TOS"?
I remember an acronym made up by one of our resident brilliants: "TOF" for "The Other Forum"— even though I have absolutely no idea what she was talking about. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I think the lead was from "TOS" - oops, Voices.com - Whew, finally some free expression!!
My character was Mr. Hiles, the high school physics teacher. Incidental at first, gets more central to the plot later.
Sure hope they do another one! Thanks for all the kudos! _________________ Chris Mezzolesta, Voice Talent

Yes, I think that's more the target audience, and the airings on MTV are more a teaser to get folks to go online and get em at iTunes and the other mobile providers, I think even the phone providers will have it, IINM.....I believe they're also up at mtv.com...If you go to iTunes and go to the TV Shows section, there should be an icon for Invincible which goes to the first couple of eps as well as a free download of the Behind the Scenes. Can't recall if Mr Hiles is in that sampler or not. Small gig bread-wise, but this may well be one instance where the old dreaded "Think of the exposure!!" may ring true (no one actually said this to me, I used to get this as a musician all the time being asked to play for free or cheap)...
Thanks again! _________________ Chris Mezzolesta, Voice Talent

Exactly! So much for all the "rules" we should be following. Ever wonder who makes them up anyway?
Congrats!

Checked it out yesterday Chris. Nice job! Interesting style of animation too. It says a lot that they'd be willing to change their requirements to fit you into the project. Kudos! _________________ http://www.jameslorenz.com/notjustvoiceover |

Thanks very much James, I think finally my wife was impressed when we saw my name in the credits at the end...she's been a bit blase over the years...so this was a definite step, if not moneywise, perhaps groovywise or exposurewise...now to MILK it!
Thanks again.... _________________ Chris Mezzolesta, Voice Talent
