I have to admit that the Savvy thread has become long and went on for ever. It went from serious to frivolous. I stirred up a hornet’s nest that I attempted to make right.

So who is Greg Allen? Did he lock the thread or did someone else? Why was it locked?

Ed

He's a very nice guy! Laugh

Ed, there are only a very honored few that can lock a thread.
DB our illustrious leader being one and Kafer, Hart & Edo I assume being the other 3.

Greg's post did seem like an appropriate way to end it though.

No worries...the party moved to studio C...can't you hear the music? Kiss Laugh

CONGA LINE...let's go!!!!!!!!!! Laugh

Liz

I looked back at 60 of 120 past pages. In those sixty pages only one Thread started by DB was locked. It was about a Pirate promo and was time sensitive.

I still wonder why the Savvy thread was locked. Greg Allen wrote The End. Did he lock it? And still the question is why? Was something said?

Did I miss the memo?

ED

Sometimes it's just time. Seemed like a good time.

Let's move on, shall we?

It is locked because.

It went on too long, it was not focused, it did not pertain to what the thread was about, it did not apply to the VO-BB, the death of "another site" does not need to be lamented here on an active and much "better" board (my words), etc.

The thread should have been killed after page one, thread one. Let it rest in peace or in pieces. The horse is dead, there is no need to beat the horse.

You choose your metaphor. And finally, do not question the Board Mistress's action. She is right - all the time.

Is this thread dead yet?

The END. No more Savvey talk. Bury it.

Toodles

Ed,
The only people that can lock a thread are DB, Kafer, Hart & Edo.
I guess it was just time.

Hi Ed, I used Greg Allen which is my old radio name when I signed up. I use Gregory Best for VO work. Maybe I should talk to the Board Czar again about changing it, but I think I would loose my post count.

I didn't lock it, but I started something or was that ended something. I thought it was time. Like at a funeral, you must eventually walk away and live in the present.

Mother Deebs has an excellent board here. I am hoping that the flavor doesn't change. I much preferred this board to Savvy. Enough said.

With this on it?

Ed, relax.
The mourning had run its course, I think— and Greg said something brilliant.
Carpe Threadem, I always say.

It might have been nice to add the preface: "And they lived happily ever after" to "the end." I would love to believe in fairy tales....

Or something Italian maybe like FINE, since the thread had started to remind me of Fellini's Satyricon.

it reminds me of the importance of moderation ... in all forms ... and the authority and power only the czar can wield.
