Smile no prob, I am super self-critical (which I need to get over), so it doesn't take much for me to jump to "oh no I suck!!"

My 2¢.

The cards are fine. Stylish and legible. I always find people happy to have one given to them and it makes it a lot easier to make that "In the hand connection" as Marice Tobias would say.

And since you are meeting people face to face, if they like what they hear, they won't care about your design talents at all. Unless they are looking for a designer.

Have fun and make a lot of connections.

Rachel,

I've listened to your demo (which kicks ass, btw), and think that the design you have now is ***sorry*** really boring. Which you most definitely are NOT. Ideally, your design should reflect your personality.

I used to produce VO demos in Chicago, and got pretty good at coming up with ideas to match design with a talent's personality. I think I still have scans of some old J-cards (yeah, old-school) that will get across what I mean. If you PM me with an e-mail, I'll look them up and send you a few images that might help you with ideas.

But you risk losing a real opportunity here. If your design is boring, the agency and talent agent-types may well not bother to listen to your demo. And they would really be missing out. Because you are good.

All the best,

Tom Test

Ray - your personality was the take away at VOICE - you make a great impression.

Great to sit with you at dinner on Sunday!

I've got to agree with the rest of the folks that Rachel's personality carried the day at VOICE.

Additionally, her changed logo for her cards was, what I think, is the start of a possible brand which will serve her well (it's not pictured on this thread).
