Wow, look at that - it even has a coach house to be made into a studio!
And the views!

Pleasant enough domicile. Not much of a basement for the servants though.

Maybe I could grow a beard as Laird of the Manor. Ninja

Holy Toledo.

That puppy skates in at less than half a mil. Combine all those features with a view like that over here and I don't even wanna think of what it would cost. Prolly a lot closer to the tag on that house Bruce VO'd the Flash tour for last fall.

Picking up on the ISDN call costs. Yesterday I did a promo/trailer session for a TV company. The facilities house were going to charge about $3 per minute for using ISDN so I said I would dial in. The session lasting 1 hour 45 minutes was going to be lucrative but sadly the cost of the ISDN call would have to be picked up by me, it was a total of 12 cents. Oh well, may be next year I'll make a profit.

Anthony -

If the call originates with the client, you can book an ISDN session at Full House on 18th Street (b/w 6 & 7) for $20 per half-hour.

Hope this helps,

Lisa

If you need to book the ISDN booth at the talent rate, call Tina or George. They do all the scheduling.

Note that you can often get in the same day or on short notice, but there is only one booth and it can get busy. The more notice you have, the better.

And FWIW, although they are incredibly nice and helpful folks at Full House, for this great a rate in Manhattan, this isn't a situation in which you have an engineer standing by. It's a self-service format -- they turn on the Zephyr in their control room and you hop in the booth at the appointed time. You can have copy faxed there directly (no problem), but if you have significant connection problems and they are very busy, you shouldn't expect them to be available to help troubleshoot.

I say this only because I've had experiences in which I have told the client well in advance that it's a Telos Zephyr running L2 Mono 128 (etc., etc.), only to have the engineer on their end turn up with two tin cans and a piece of string, wondering why it's not locking up.

Just a word to the wise in advance -- it's $20 per half-hour, but that doesn't include tech support on your end. Make sure whomever you're working for is ready to go and has a compatible codec and/or bridge-building skills.

I only just saw this today, as I had got behind a week or so ago reading VOBB and marked everything as read.

Well, you sure gave up on a winner! Yes, it's the Alice statue. We had fun - I really wanted to take a good one of me talking with the Mad Hatter, but they didn't turn out. Got a good one of me sitting on Hans Christian Anderson;s lap though Smile

For a place just 60 seconds from an ISDN studio, this couldn't be better!

Perhaps the owners could be persuaded to hold a ceremonial burning in the garden.

Oh-oh, shades of The Wicker Man up in the North tip of Scotland? Smile

We could go get icecream after though from that shop near the other house.
