Jodi... you rock! Brilliant order of the examples, lush production and very inspiring for it gets you right in the 'how do I cast this voice' mode. I would definately hire you... and serve you a double espre.... (oops sorry)

Congrats!

Thanks, Sandy. I can always use more girly love. Wink

Eddie, as much as I'd love to add singing ... I don't know if it would be advisable. I do have a separate singing demo and a jingle demo, as it happens (which obviously, you've listened to already. <grin>). So certainly, anyone that's interested can hear that (they're at http://www.voiceoversandvocals.com/demos.html for any that are interested) but I'm not sure it would fit with a commercial demo ... though I do appreciate the idea ...

Edo, I think your current hottie would get jealous if you had a double espresso with anyone else. Wink And she's a keeper! Wink Good on ya for that one, by the way. Though I didn't comment, I did read the story. You GO, guy! Laugh

DY NO MITE!

There is some very, very good work there.

A dozen different people will hear it a dozen different ways, but I say it is terrific - with one very minor exception, and this is just MY personal opinion: I agree with Peter O'Connell regarding the Gatorade spot. In my opinion, everything else was just so much better that it seemed way out of place. The only bump on the highway of hits!

Any pro looking to hire a pro would not be likely to turn away from you because of it - or at least he or she shouldn't, assuming they are really a pro, that is.

Thanks, Don. I appreciate the comments! Hmm... Starting to sound like that Gatorade spot might just be "voted off the island". Wink I'll give it a bit more time and see what the consensus is...

Hey Jodi, she must have pulled that double espresso stunt a couple of times... but I'm the only one that took the bait I guess. So glad I did too! And jealousy is not in her dictionnary, she's great.

To comment on your singing... if you have an example of you singing solos or harmony vocals in commercials I would definately portrait that! In a different hyperlink that is, just to make it stand out more.

She does sound pretty perfect, Edo, you lucky guy you. Smile I'm really glad it's working out well for you two. Smile

As for a sample of singing ... well, if people are interested, there's a jingle demo here:

(produced by Jason LeBlanc)

and a "Singing Sampler" here:

Thanks, Bob. Smile

Lou, I'm sure World of Windows is hoping you feel that way too - which, I guess, is the point. Laugh Thanks!

If your'e only sending one demo in to keep things simple I think a 5 sec jingle clip would be a good Gatorade replacement. Laugh

If this was a "general" demo, sure, Eddie! Laugh You know, I don't know if I *have* a general demo ...

Hi Jodi,

Here's my two cents. Please keep in mind that a) I'm fairly inexperienced, having been in this business for only five years, and I'm not nearly up to making a living at it, and b) I'm listening on PC speakers that are decent, but are still PC speakers.

The Good: Most of your demo!

The Bad: Gatorade. I just don't believe it.

The Ugly: In my mind, this is Ugly in a hilarious way, but I thought I'd throw it out there. In the first clip, I believe the line is, "...but I guess you might not notice since you're flipping through TV channels all the time!" But I had to listen to it four times, turning up the volume each time, before I heard it that way. What I kept hearing was, "...but I guess you might not notice since you're f***ing the TV channels all the time!" Maybe my tinny speakers are to blame, maybe I'm going deaf, maybe I've just got my mind, er, elsewhere. But that's what I heard. Smile

Cheers,
Rich

Hey Rich! Well, that's another vote against Gatorade. Laugh No worries. We've pretty much decided to get rid of it at this point, so it's not an unexpected reaction. I also definitely appreciate your honest opinion. And yes, in that first spot? I'm perfectly FINE with it if you heard a dirty word there instead. Wink a) it'll get people's attention, definitely - and b) if someone calls me on it, I'll just say they have a dirty mind because that's not really what I'm saying at all. I'm SHOCKED they would think that ...

Laugh

Ok guys. Pretty sure this is the final version of the demo (there might be a few tightened up spots in some places, but beyond that, this is the order - and the Gatorade spot has been removed).

http://www.voiceoversandvocals.com/sounds/JodiKrangle-CommercialDemo4.mp3

As Peter mentioned earlier, Debbie Monro has been instrumental in adding some of the spots that might take people by surprise (she coached me through a phone patch for both the first spot, and the drunk driving psa) and in putting together this final mix.

It definitely couldn't have been done without the patient additional coaching (for the spots previous to the ones I worked on with Debbie) by Lee Kanne, and the production talents of both Lee & Dave DeAndrea. I'm hugely grateful to all three of them for their generosity with their time, their patience, and their encouragement. Wow. What a process. It was FUN, too! Laugh

Thanks to all YOU guys too, for your encouragement and your honest opinions. I really appreciate them both.
