Hi Roger. Thanks. That's an old reel. National audio might still have some 1/4" 456. I've got a couple of flats here still as well. Never used...but far from new. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Here you go. I circled it for you.
I built it myself. AMD64 Processor/2gbram/2 Nvidia video boards/80gig main drive/120 storage drive. All audio lives on a hot swap 500gb firewire drive. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Interesting comments about the gold and platinum records being made of plastic. When I was in radio, they were made out of metal. Brass, I think. One station in L.A. where I worked was throwing a few out, and for fun, we pried open the case and put the thing on the turntable and put a needle on it, which probably destroyed the needle, but that's beside the point. The gold record was for a Commodores album or something and I noticed that the "gold record" had more tracks on it than the actual album had, so it made me curious to see what was on there. It was some obscure country music album. And it sounded so horrible (vinyl is a better material for records than brass or tin or whatever it was) that I didn't play more than a few seconds of it.
Nice setup, BTW... |

Jeff,
I'll bet it sounded horrible, but I still would have loved to have been there when you did that! _________________ Be well,

| We'll have to get together and exchange our radio war stories one day, Bob. I'm sure you've got plenty of them, and so do I. I got out of the business after it stopped being fun and profitable, (it had to be both) but while it was fun and profitable, it was definitely FUN. |

Jeff,
Next time I'm going to be in your part of the world, I'll be sure to let you know. I'd love to spend some time with you. _________________ Be well,

I never have taken apart one of those plaques and played the "record". I've heard storys too of the actual disc being Pat Boone or something weird and obscure. Gotta do something with the leftovers right? _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

It sure isn;t what it once was Gentlemen. The investor/speculators of the 80/early 90's were bad enough. When the big companys went public in the later 90's everything became so bloody corporate. The radio station culture just ain't what it used to be. It's more like a job now. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.
