Rowell, I've got a good booth, too. I just like to complain about the outside noise 'cause I've got nothing else to complain about. I love this job . _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

We've been living in a 55+ community for about 3 years. It's so quiet, you could probably record on the front porch.

Well, then I guess there is some benefit to my living in a mostly elderly community (not just 55+ - most neighbors are 70+). They sure are quiet... usually.
Rachel, I hope you get some work done today!!! _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I won't try to defend 2-year-olds, jackhammers, or even C-130s, but at the Christi household, helicopters are our friends!
Judy just switched jobs. She's now a dispatcher for AirLink here in Bend.
Now OT: I found out that every time they start up those rotors, the bill is $4000 (even if they don't take off). Would that I could bill that every time I turn on my pre-amp. _________________ Dave "Christi" Felton

Man, I feel lucky with my electric bill after reading this thread.
Mine was $126 for July and our house is 1,800 sq ft. with two stories. And as for noise, we live on a cul de sac in the woods, literally. BUT, the airport is about 10 miles away and every now and then, one of those HUGE Army cargo planes flies over and rattles everything in the house. _________________ http://toddvoice.com/ |

I'm pretty sure the Lone Gunman aren't black. In fact, they're all a bit pastey, but thanks for the tip! _________________ Lou Zucaro

We run AC 24/7 here & my eyes are buggin' out at how high your electric bills are!
Random lawn mowers & such sometimes make a racket, as does a motorcycle zooming down the street (which make my dog nuts.) The fun stuff is when a B-52 flies over, which is fortunately a rare occurrence. We're close to Barksdale AFB, but not directly in the flight path, or it'd be a disaster. _________________ Mary |
