The supremely excellent hostess and host with the most.

The Craigelachie Bridge. Incidental castellations for beauty's sake.

The by-God Glenfiddich Distillery.

The charming tour guide. He's nicer than he looks in this picture! He's just squinting, even thought it was overcast.
It was cloudy, but bright.

Drive up the hill from the distillery and Look! it's a castle!
It's the Balvenie Castle.

Another day— and a walk with Jazz.

The signpost that shows the line between Portgordon and Buckie.

This is what you see as you leave the beach.

I'm with Paddyo, great pics.

Makes me miss the country even more. I need to get back there for a spell.

On the way to Orkney.
Mrs. At the Wheel.

Philip riding shotgun.

The kids in the back.

A heather hillside. a bit blurred, but dang— look at that color.

The ferry dock at Scrabster.

Couple of big kids looking at the boat come in.

An Orkney style stone wall.

Back in Portgordon

Walking with Jazz byt the River Spey.
Look at that sky.

On the way home, we had a stopover in Amsterdam! And doggone Edo is in the islands.
This is the trainstation. It's not a clock, but a weathervane.

The trains run on time in Amsterdam! Winged wheel on the top of the station.

People aparently believe in using bicycles! So Smart. There were tens of thousands of bicycles, it seemed.

Coffee in Holland

Okay the pic of Mrs. at the wheel is funny.

"I want to kill you for taking my picture while I'm driving, but I'll smile and lure you into a false sense of security before I take the car over the cliff..."

sorry, it's just the caption I see with that photo.

Oh Deirdre,

The photos, especially those taken in Portgordon, just take my breath away with longing to be back there again. I'm so, so, so very glad you and DeWitt were able to make this trip.

You should NOT have let Deebs post those photos - or you better have darn good locks on your door with an escape route out the back for when hordes of us show up at your place. I'm calling the airlines now...oh - wait, I have to teach until December 17th - Christmas nice in your neck of the woods?
