My husband sent me this link. We wanna live here:

http://www.residential-property-scotland.co.uk/sale_north/balfour-castle.htm

Only 233 miles from Portgordon. A little north... think we could do a B&B?

Smile

Caryn,

At a price of $5.4 million (US), only Philip could afford it and he all ready lives in Scotland. Laugh

Bob,

That's not the price. That's the estimated heating bill.

Mighty wee in the huttie size, don't ya think Caryn? I don't even want to think what the taxes would be on your tiny home away from home. But, I like it!

Happy dreamin'.

It actually isn't the price. It's the starting price. In Scotland they don't sell real estate the way we do here in the States. They do it more like an auction with sealed bids.

Very good point.....add on about 15% to secure the property and then 6% of that total in goverment taxes.

Thanks for posting this Caryn! My husband and I, in our desperate search to find a house in Tampa, have spent the past 2 weeks e-mailing possible homes back and forth.

I sent him this link with this note..."I can't find the exact square footage on the site, but I'm hoping it might be big enough...I'm worried it might be too far from the station though...what do you think?"

He called me about 2 seconds later dying laughing- he totally fell for it!
