I put together a short sound sample that I've asked Deidre to post here. I'm reading with the closet doors closed (1st); partially open (2nd); fully open (3rd).
It got a little peaky in places--zero processing and no HPF.
Signal chain: TLM 103 -> Grace 101 -> RME AD/DA converter -> MBox
Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks! _________________ www.chriskoprowski.com/en |

Hi Chris!
Doors closed - not bad at all, but definitely a little boxy/boomy...but nowhere near what I've heard with other small booths with issues. Sometimes that boominess works well with the high shelf rise of the 103. I wouldn't count this out at times.
Doors partially opened - sounds best. Best compromise of less boominess/noise floor/and an open sound.
Doors open - noise floor becomes noticeable, and some reflections from the room are now noticeable. I'd rather have the door closed and EQ out a touch of the boom. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

IMO, it sounds best with the door closed. There's really not that much boominess (at least on my monitors-EV Sentry 100s).
What I don't care for in the file with the door open, partially and fully, is the increase in ambient noise.
Just my opinion! _________________ John Weeks Voice Overs
