My current can't-hear-it-enough is a tune from Sonic the Hedgehog.

It's Knuckles' theme by Marlon Saunders.

That's a clickable link^.

I need to hear it 4 or 5 times a day.
Dylan found it.

P&Q, on the Golden label! Smile

Am I the only one who doesn't listen to music and doesn't go to movies?
(Very rarely, anyway)

Cool groove...the chorus was a surprize. Didn't expect it.

Personally I've been stuck in a Jaco thing for about a month now. Won;t be happy till I figure out all of "Portrait of Tracy".

Yeah, that's still a thrill even after hearing it 87,000 times.

Jaco, eh?
Don't set your sights high or anything, do ya? Laugh

It's pretty much been JP and Stanley Clarke since HS...that was a looong time ago. I behave myself on the gig though.

Did you know there is a developmental gene called sonic hedgehog? It's in the "hedgehog" family of segmentation genes (genes involved in partitioning animals' bodies into different major regions), so called because the mutant forms give fruitfly embryos nubby things that are reminiscent of hedgehog fur. The first ones were named for real species of hedgehogs but sonic was named for the video game character.

Just one of those little science stories.

One of my favorites is the tinman gene, which controls heart development in fruit flies.

I love that crossover stuff.

Ok...I'm lost. LOL

What am I listening to now?
Todd Rundgren

I don't have an iPod. I have a bPod. That's where I wear two earbuds and hum tunes to myself.

Awe, DB! Why did you have to ask? I've got at least 3 new CD's that I'd love to share. But, here's one I picked up last week and listened to this weekend.

Identity by Jeremy Pelt

Jeremy Pelt is a young trumpet player who has formed a quartet. In the tradition of Miles, Freddie and Clifford, he's an incredibly creative trumpet player who has surrounded himself with excellent musicians who are power/grace/sensitivity/artistry personified. Vincent Archer and Eric McPherson are awesome a rhythm section. And, Frank Locrasto on the keyboard is delightfully proficient. I'd say mix Bill Evans with Chick Corea and you're getting in Frank's zone. But, Frank is Frank.

After a one week stint at the Bakery in L.A., they were in Oakland at Yoshi's for a one night gig, before heading to the Village Vanguard for a one week stay in NYC last week. I caught their last show in Oakland, Sunday before last. Catch them, if you can. Be prepared to see and hear a performance you've never dreamed possible.

You don't need to have an iPod to have a Personal Playlist.
It's whatever music you're listening to these days, if any.

I just wanted to share that super nifty tune with you guys and I hope you ALL LISTEN.

What kind of Todd are you listening to?
The span is pretty enormous.

I just brought up my MP3 player on shuffle, and totally at random it picked "Liar" by the Sex Pistols. And for something completely different, this week I'm seeing the Detroit Symphony Orchestra perform Beethoven's Fifth. How's that for contrast!
