Personally, I think this is great. Most mid- to high-end phones have MicroSD card slots these days, and most computers/printers have SD card readers as well (those that don't are well-served by a slew of aftermarket USB adapters).
Also, I've been saying for 15 years that CDs are too fragile for mainstream storage use -- how many times have we all been annoyed by skipping CDs and stuttering DVDs?
IMO, the move to flash memory-based music can't come soon enough. |

But what are you going to do after the first time you lose the darn thing or wash it with the clothes??
Although it does sound pretty neat!

What do you do when you accidently run over your favorite cd while backing out of the driveway because the kids "cleaned up the car for you daddy"?
You either buy a new one or burn a new copy from the "back-up" you've made on your computer. _________________ Brian Forrester Voice Overs

On the forum I picked that up, someone commented that there has always been a problem with CD's getting scratched or worse warped in the sun. The person thought that the SD would solve all those problems.
I was thinking to myself that it was even worse in the vinyl days where even dust would and did cause problems. It was then I was reminded that people born in the late 70's early 80's and later don't really know anything different than the CD.
This message brought to you by the seemingly elderly. |

One day, my daughter had friends over and for some reason I had an LP...they were fascinated! They're eyes all bugged out and they all wanted to touch it. They had NEVER SEEN AN LP Before. Hokey smokes.
I also remember a TV spot for CDs when they first came out- it showed a CD rolling down a hill... and it was still playable after. Um, yea, not so much. _________________ Moe Egan

Probably a pdf inside the card. Along side a flash animated "card" cover. |

The problem with CDs is you can't play them backwards and hear all kind of cryptic messages ala the Beatles' White Album.... |

I had a very sweet 22 year old girl doing data entry for me for a couple months earlier this year. We were talking about music and she informed me that she had NEVER PURCHASED a CD. Ever.
Wow, did I feel old _________________ Lou Zucaro

We're shopping for new video cameas. What! No tape!
It's SDHC or P2 or some other flavor of cards. The good news is they are lighter and may even cost a tad less. But the increase in necessary computer power to effectively process "the new generation" of video is getting incredibly expensive. _________________ Wild Willie Edwards
