Great news Frank! I can't wait to try it out. Put me on the list to buy a copy as soon as it's ready to go! |

Glad things are finally coming together on this for you. This sounds the kind of product I've long been waiting (hoping) for.
So if you need a real L O N G distance Beta-tester I'll be ready and waiting.
Take care.

Guess I'll be the wet blanket. While I applaud your entrepreneurial spirit, Frank, as one who invested in the $4,000 codec and who uses ISDN every day, what, if any benefit could someone like myself possibly derive?
And for all those studios that already use ISDN, what will be their motivation to switch to another tehnology, throwing out their own investments, when they must depend on a third party for service? What kind of guarantee of uptime can you offer? Same as the phone company?
Not bashing, mind you. Just curious as to the "real world" potential for something like this really catching on. I think you may have an uphill climb.
Another problem I have is Internet reliability. Not just your server, but my own ISP. I've had some serious outages before and if I was relying on the kind of technology that you are proposing, I would have been in deep trouble more than a few times. This is one reason I am not interested in VO-IP for telephone service.
Now then, who wants to buy my Zephyr Xstream once Frank makes it obsolete? |

Don't detect any mean spirit or a sense of being a wet blanket. Intelligent debate is not a bad thing.
Have you ever noticed (no reference to Jeff's post) that people say "you're wrong" when they mean "I didn't like what you just said"? |

That's a very interesting observation Jeff, and I can't wait to hear Frank's response.
Oddly enough, I was just reading about Comrex's new "Access" unit that is an internet deal. They supposedly have some way of bridging it through a portal to make it compatible with ISDN coming soon, but I wonder at what charge? The unit is $2500.00
Anyway, Their literature (mostly sales pitch of course) seems to suggest ISDN is old tech and on the way out. I'll take that with a grain of salt, but I know around here the Sprints and the Verizons of the world treat our ISDN accounts like they have herpes.
It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

I do like intelligent debate. So here goes Jeff:
Gotta tell you, I would love to answer your question - and had two paragraphs written prior to thinking better of it. Erased those in favor of this:
If you have any questions, please IM me or call me, I can answer those personally, not on the VO-BB. The reason: I do not want to make the VO-BB an area for sales oriented people to come on and hype their wares.
I will have the .pdf overview of iSpeek available soon, and if that still does not answer your questions - call or IM me.
You bring up some valid points and I do have some answers which may or may not impress you, I am not going to sell everyone on iSpeek, but I hope a few of us "financially challenged" can now get into the game with a quality product which is reliable, beneficial, and easy to use... in fact, even I can use it, and I am not very web-centric.
Isn't the web, something a spider uses or makes - er - whatever?
Thanks for your comments, please keep them coming, I need to know what people are thinking so I can make the product more usable (Is that correct English?) and market it better.
I DO listen.

Frank,
You've been more than forthcoming, I think, given the pressure you must be under to get all the technology, marketing, supporters, clients and investors (?) on some sort of deadline -- ALL those planets to align.
Cost of ISDN has long been the bane of struggling artists to afford in a sort of Catch-22 dilemma.
I also appreciate your setting the bar so high for yourself -- an original BB member -- to NOT sully the posts with gratuitous ads.
Now, uh....when do I get my set-up ;-}

Thank you for the kind words.
I set the bar high enough that when someone else reaches it I can still raise it higher... thus getting the best out of us all.
Oh, Dave... the $5.00 is in the mail...
