Connie--

Sometimes ground loops occur because similar components are grounded in the same circuit.

My fix has been to "lift" some of the gear, that is--use a three-to-two prong adapter. One of my monitors requires it, a couple of other rack components need it.

That's what fixes the trouble for me.

Wow - DB fixes people's problems before they even post about them!

Clairvoyant.

Cool.

Okay, guess what I'm thinking about right now.

This is good to know DB..

When you say a three-prong - to - two-prong, do you mean the two prongs go into the electrical circuit, or the three? Am I making sense?

I went through at least part of that exercise. I'll look again, but like I said, the hum is intermittent. It was behind the track I did for the Tawes thing and then later on today it was not present on a real audition or a real session.

Could it have anything to do with my wireless keyboard and mouse and my cordless telephone? I also experimented with speaker on and speaker off settings.

Oh, nevermind. I'll call my friend who owns Pro Sound and get him over here to trouble shoot. Been threatening him with that for months now.
