Today, it's "desirable".

I know how to say it and how it should sound, but my mouth kept spitting it out as "de-ZAR-a-bul". A few more repetitions did the trick.

De-ZYE-ra-bul.

1) www

2) ending a read with the word "home"

I had a script with the word "vouchers". The first time I said it, it came out "vultures". I had to re-do it two days later when the client changed the script. Same thing happened. I need more scripts that really are about birds. Get it out of my system.

I recorded a Breast Cancer PSA recently and one of the foundations that I had to say was the "National Philanthropic Trust". . .you talk about wanting to attach my tounge to my teeth permanently. It took me something like 15 tries to say it right w/o the mic, and then I still flubbed it on mic! I did manage, after about 2 hours, to say it right on mic. . .ONLY ONCE!! I was traumatized (Another wonderful word to say in certain areas)! Sticking out Tongue

My "un-favorite" word - "regularly". Especially whe I have to say it in a fast-paced spot...

Oh well...

I can't see what i'm saying for my eye teeth, anyway.

Frank, "regularly" is one of mine as well. Along with "particularly". LOL

I have convinced a lot of clients that practically no one is saying "www" anymore-they simply state the website.com. This has saved me a lot of "www's".

I'm there on the "regularly" and "particularly".

"Saturday" seems to fall in that category for me....but my #1 hated word pairing is:

RESCUE CREWS

(it's so much easier just to say "rescuers")

Yeah, regularly is a @%#$^$%, but for some reason I have no problem with particularly .

Another one for me has always been factory rebate.

One of the benefits of living in New England for a while is that I've learned how to elide my "R"s now and then. Not drop 'em-- but hint at 'em without having to fully pronounce them.

That way, Regularly and Particularly aren't so haahd.
