|
|
At 7:30 this morning, Eric and I were in my PT Cruiser, motoring west from Charlotte toward Knoxville, TN for the first stop of this portion of the so-called Bob Souer World Tour. We had a truly delightful lunch and much excellent conversation with Roger Baker (who drove 2 hours over from Asheville, NC to joins us!) Todd Ethridge and John Weeks.
I've stitched 2 photos together (and not very well as you can see) to get all 5 of us at the table together. From the left this is Eric Souer, Roger Baker, Todd Ethridge, John Weeks and Bob Souer. We ate at a wonderful little restaurant called Trio in the Market Square section of downtown Knoxville.
Eric and I then hopped back in the PT Cruiser, re-programmed the GPS for Lexington, KY and got on the road going north.
In Lexington, we had dinner with Tom Ackerman (no kicking demonstrations took place) and his wonderful family. Tom's wife Kera took this shot of Eric and me flanking Tom in his living room.
Tom then took us to WLEX-TV for a tour of the station. Here's a spot where he spends much of his on-air time.
Then Tom persuaded Eric and me to sit at the anchor desk.
It's the first ever all VO-BB television newscast, maybe?
If all goes well, Sunday we'll have more stops, more meals and more visits with voiceover friends. _________________ Be well,

I feel terrible not being able to be part of the visit, but it looks as if Tom was a a very gracious and entertaining host. Thanks Tom for representing Lexington so ably. It appears ya'll had a wonderful time and thanks Bob for the wonderful pics. I do want to meet Eric some time.
On the bright side we won our game 21- 20 in the last few minutes.
God's speed on the rest of your journey Bob and Eric.

Wonderful pics of Team VO-BB. Lots of great smiles.

It was great to see Bob again and meet Eric. Wonderful folks, wonderful visit! I don't know how they do all that driving and stay so chipper. And thanks again Bob for the PT tips.
My 5 yr old daughter came out after dinner with VO-BB written meticulously on a piece of paper. She'd been studing the Souer boy's t-shirts. |

Claire,
It is my fervent desire to get to London sometime, but I've promised many of our board mates that I'll make a trip to New England first. And candidly there are a couple of other trips yet this year that don't go to New England. (I'll be in New York City for a weekend in mid-November and in Portland, OR for a weekend in early December.)
And you should know, Claire, that I didn't invent this "world tour" business. I don't remember who posted it first here, but Greg Littlefield or Todd Ellis or someone else with mad photoshop skilz created a "rock tour" style t-shirt design after yet another trip I'd made and the term has sort of stuck ever since. _________________ Be well,

Fabby INDEED!
Please don't say you'll be here in the NYC area between Nov.14-17th... ...That's when I'll be in Bethesda, MD for Harlan Hogan's seminar....

Such wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing! I just learned I'll be back in Charlotte on the 27th, but sadly I'm just being flown in for a day to record some Raggs episodes, and then back to Florida that evening. It's high time that Souer train headed south don't ya think?? Miss you guys! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

I'm with Mandy on the "Anchor Boys".
You are so cute. That Eric Sour is a doll— and such a talent, too!!
I'm delighted that you like the VO-BB Sphere Shirts. _________________ DBCooperVO.com
