Like Rich, I've been trying to simplify mine as much as possible, too. The fewer pieces used the better, with "unpowered" solutions whenever possible. A few examples:

I did real well up to a point and then it was brick wall.. I got most of the free levels ok, after some work... but there was a point where I gave up .. I was then astonished at the complexity of some solutions, then floored by the brilliant simplicity of some... them no powered parts machines are a hoot.. especially the Uturn one...
