Gas prices this weekend were down to $2.67 a gallon. I'm all for positive thinking and making things happen for you and the greater good (remind me some time to tell you about my 33rd year) but the elections are playing a part in this, as they do every 4 years. Grrr. I'll keep wishing it down.
Greg, my MIL just got a rechargeable mower and loves it. We use electric here, too.
My husband bikes to work (bike, train, bike) and says he's seen a huge increase over the summer of cyclists. They don't all know the bike rules of the road but it's great to see. The problem is that when the weather gets colder, like this morning when it was 34 degrees as he biked down the street, people turn back to their cars again.
Can we work on the price of diapers, too? Those are going to kill me. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

I devoured motivational books, tapes etc. for an approximate 10-year period so I believe wholeheartedly in the concept Frank used to start this thread.
I remember back when gas prices starting skyrocketing in the Spring hearing conversations between people saying "I'll bet it'll be $5 a gallon by the end of the year"
I consciously avoided such exchanges.
Frank's "$2 a gallon by the end of the year" mantra is getting eerily close to reality! (at least here in Ohio where it is now about $2.45) |

Positive thinking needs to be positive. No negativity allowed. If the masses unite, we will prevail.
We all have to do our part. Riding a bike is a good idea, but in some climates you may have to think outside the box. The UK has a new toy called the Twike; an enclosed electric motor assisted trike. Add a small electric heater, and you have some possibilities. Again, thinking outside the box, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle might be what the Dr. ordered.
The key to this little test is to believe sub $2.00/gallon gasoline IS a reality. Again, Do Not Let Up when life gets in the way of making your dreams come true.
In Utah, the retailers have decided they are going to gouge consumers to make a profit. Gasoline is still above $3.00/ gallon.

I was in Oklahoma over the weekend. Prices are in the $2.25 range. Two dollars can't be far down the road so to speak. _________________ Ron Phillips

$2.79 yesterday, which doesn't sound all that cheap compared to what I'm seeing on here...but it's the lowest it's been for quite a while _________________ We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

In the sticks, we are still at $2.63/gallon. But we have honest retailers who say they are still gouging us for the profit they lost during the height of the gasoline scare (crisis).
Slowly, we are making headway toward the under $2.00/gallon folks, keep up the good vibes.

So if oil prices are dropping...
and gas prices are dropping...
will airline ticket prices follow suit? _________________ "Bailey"
