The charming Mistress Nally swept into my establishment just as my young apprentice, Master Keohane was about to lock the door for the night.

"Boy! Your master and be quick about it" she snapped.

"Yours to serve M'm" replied Master Keohane bowing as he approached my window. "Mistress Nally, Sir"

I straightened my waistcoast and approached Mistress Nally in all her finery.

"Ah. Good evening to you Mr Banks. Two hours of your finest oration if you please"

I studied the text and commenced.

In a little over an hour Mistress Nally took her leave of me with her text orated and packaged in a velvet monogrammed box.

No doubt Mr. Nally will be pleased with his Christmas gift this year. Laugh

Jeff,

Are you kidding? He was on Voice123.com for a whole week and never booked a thing. (No doubt this was because there were no jobs posted in Border Collie during that week.)

methinks mr. banks is not in need of retirement...only in the grips of a TEMPORARY state of dementia.

how otherwise could he have possibly mistaken motivational author tony robbins for brilliant actor/producer/"baldrick" tony robinson?

i look for him to be "back by popular demand" before another sunrise.

I think Jazz could be a #3 from the "When did you quit your Day Job Thread"

Not to worry.

While work has continued apace at my little Wild West Emporium here, I've had almost nothing nasty or defamatory to say about anybody now that the elections are over. No paid slurs or innuendos of opponents, no outright puffery on behalf of the sponsors themselves, no dire warnings of evil intent from Washington insiders and multi-million dollar corporate interests.

I've been reduced to saying nice things about the holiday dinners at Piccadilly Cafeterias from North Carolina to Louisiana, narrating videos celebrating several Medal of Honor winners, recording a VOG intro of sunny personality Mary Hart, reading one line of revised copy and get paid national TV rate for it all over again, and reading a short narration for a new grooming product for men from a major purveyor while being sworn to secrecy not to reveal any details of this product for a period of five years.

Back to being Mr. Nice guy I guess.... sigh.

Sounds pretty bad, Bruce. Hope you're saving for a rainy day and don't find yourself in the same pickle as poor Banksey ...

At least you have the setup for VO if you still go into something else Philip. It can be a source of extra income. Bummer that you have to seek a regular day job. Hope you'll still hang here so I can expand my vocab of all the Port Gordonism lexicon. Say.. when you were sitting in the window, did it feel a bit like Amsterdam?

Sincerely wish you all the best.

But he did also host a program (programme?) called The Worst Jobs in History.

Anyway, welcome to my world, pal. Cries

I believe it was either last December or January that there was similar crying and nashing of teeth from one and the same Mr. Banks. I also seem to remember that it was all of a couple of hours before the guineas began rolling in again. You know what happened to the boy who cried wolf?

Thank the heavens for two hours of oration. This will save the wee hutty from "Brainiac"-like experiments.
