Hard to believe I'm doing my holiday cards (Thanksgiving) already. Anyone else? I hope to get 'em in the mail by Friday.

Not sure what I'm giving this year though. Can't decide.

I bought tons of Christmas cards last year after Dec 25th for half price. All I have to do is fill them out and send them off. Easier said then done.

Haven't even thought about cards. Lips Are Sealed

I like to wait till later, like December -- when I'm really in the Cmas/holiday mood. Actually, some of my pals are Japanese...so therefore I get to wait even longer and send happy new year's cards instead!

cheers.............

OMG! Here I was just watching the leaves flutter in the breeze outside my window, not a care in the world when....BAM!!! Christmas cards!! AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!! Hadn't even thought about those yet. *sigh* Off to the store now to buy some and take advantage of my slow work day. Caryn, you're first on my list! Wink

LOL! Sorry to break up the monotony... yup, it's that time of year. I do Thanksgiving cards b/c I really like to let people know I'm so grateful for their friendships and business. And, then I'm also not tip-toeing around whether they celebrate Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa etc. Thanksgiving is really the better holiday for me to express my gratitude.

And, Ember, you too are on my list!

At some time in December I will post a big picture of Santa on this board and some of the others I visit and that will be my el-cheapo version of a holiday card. At 42 cents a stamp, I can barely bring myself to send out my invoices. Gasp

And not to go all Ebeneezer Scrooge on everyone, but the candy canes and stuff have been on display in the supermarket since Halloween and in the past few days I have encountered at least two or three Salvation Army bell-ringers on various corners. I know what they do is worthwhile, but can't we wait until the day after Thanksgiving?

On the other hand -- speaking of Scrooge -- I just got a script for a TV spot for the Hartford Stage Company's presentation of A Christmas Carol, so I guess it's all good. Rolls Eyes

Ha ha! I used to turn on the Christmas music in the middle of October...that was until my family started getting mad at me. Now, years later, I can't even think about Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. No Christmas shopping or cards for me until December!!! Wink

It's quite reasonable to wait until after Thanksgiving for decorating and music. Radio stations that offer up "Wonderful Christmastime" and "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" two dozen times a day for two months should simply be egged repeatedly until the infractions to good taste stop. I have a set of CDs of the albums I heard every year around this time as a kid and I only listen to them for a few weeks so I don't get sick of them. When I add to the collection, it's usually stuff that came from a long, long time ago.

Shopping, on the other hand, should start as early as possible. Otherwise, I spend December 24th trying to figure out how to wrap the bits and scraps that I bought off the shelves at the mall earlier that day.

I should note: this card/gift thing is for my clients.

I actually haven't sent out Christmas cards to friends and what little family I have for YEARS! I might this year, but I'll figure that out in Dec.

I was flipping around the radio dial Sunday night and nearly went off the road when two of the station I have (now had) on presets were already switched over to all Holiday Music. Arggghhhh.

My good clients (and I know who's been bad or good, for goodness sake) get a Harry & David's Tower of Chocolate.
