So, in the USA you can spend 5 days and nights in a Hotel with over 9000 hours of training on subjects like "How to buy my book of Voice Talent Skills", guest speakers and mingle with 85 pros and 4.2million wannabees all for a little over $2,500.

In the UK we think small. A couple of hundred or so people producers and voices all meet together at a cost of around £300 and this is what we do.

VOX 2009 – The Itinerary
May 9th 2009

Chesford Grange Warwickshire • Chesford Bridge • Kenilworth • Nr Warwick • CV8 2LD
Tel No: 01926 859331 • Fax No: 01926 859075

2pm Check in Location: Event Centre Foyer
Collect your name badge and goody bag from the VOX 2009 Welcome Desk.
You can try checking in earlier, but rooms are only guaranteed to be available from 2pm.
You can register a credit card with reception to have extras charged to your account.
Leisure facilities include: indoor pool, steam room and fitness suite open 8am – 9pm

2pm Voice over demo desks Location: Kenilworth Bar
Voices can use the desks in The Kenilworth Bar to showcase their demo reels They’ll remain on display throughout VOX for producers to browse and select reels of their choice.

4pm Speed Networking Location: Kenilworth Bar/Event Centre Foyer
Sponsored and organised by Voiceovers.co.uk. This is a fantastic way for producers and voices to widen their range of contacts. If you haven’t already got your name down for the main session don’t worry as there will be an ‘open’ session at about 5:15pm.

7pm Drinks Reception & VOX Awards Location: Kenilworth Bar/Event Centre Foyer
Tony Aitken will present the winners of the 2008-9 VOX Awards at the pre-dinner drinks reception. The bar will be open throughout.

8pm Wine and Dine Location: Kenilworth Suite
As a digestif to follow our Gala Dinner everyone will be getting…a plate of chips. It’s Race Night and the stakes will be high as 14 tables vie for gambling supremacy over 6 televised horse races. Alcohol will be the ultimate and inevitable prize.
Wine courtesy of Sarah P, Kate Parker, Paul Seed, Guy Harris, Jon Strickland & Trish Jarman
Disco is courtesy of Chris Dannatt & Groove Travelling Discotheques

Late/Early Après VOX Location: The Manor Bar
The residents’ bar will be open until breakfast.

7am-10am Breakfast Location: The River Room Restaurant
If you can’t face the public ridicule you can always order breakfast in bed by filling in a card the night before. This is subject to a small service charge. And the humiliation, of course.

11am Checkout

It'll be fabby. Just thought share.

Philip,

Thank you. Got the email from Layla earlier today. I'm so looking forward to seeing you and meeting many others there in a couple of weeks.

I like the idea of lounging in the pool the morning after. I have procured an appropriate bathing costume specifically for this purpose.

Rats. I can't go. I've got some scheduling conflicts that would force me to make it a two day trip and I want to spend at least a week. It is one of my home countries after all and I've never been. I'd feel like Chevy Chase on Vacation:

Something about 28 hours in planes and airports and only 40 some hours on the ground that made it less appealing too.
