OK, guys and gals...need to pick your brains.

I just got a 416 for Christmas, and was wondering what any of you running with one suggest for a shockmount? I have a little floor rumble that I need to arrest, so I would really like to have one for my current room situation.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

The Audio Technica 8415 Shock Mount will do, or anything like it. I found one similar are Guitar Center for around $20 a few years ago.

Also the Rode SM4 works perfectly with the 416. I use it for the road kit as well.

The Audio Technica and Rode mount are about the same price. Right around 50 bucks or so and both (as well as others) will work fine.

I got one of these, and it's fantastic. He actually sent me the wrong one first, but re-sent me the correct one. If you do go this route, make sure that he's sending you the one with the white felt lining. Makes all the diff in the world.

SM4 is the most often used in my experience, I hate the way the elastics wear out on the Audio Technica. Also a new one from Avant Electronics.

I'll echo George.

I've had really good luck with this one:

Very small, very rugged construction.

Hi Brad,

I have two of the mounts that Chuck mentioned. Nice people to deal with and the mounts are excellent quality. The white felt on the holder makes for a glove like fit.

This is a good shock mount at an excellent price.

Here's the link again:

i met the Sabra folkjs a couple years agio at AES and picked up a few of their items.

This is what I use for my 416 - combo shock mount and pop screen. How good is it? I recorded a couple of SAG national spots with it, so at least it doesn't suck.

you might find it for a little less on eBay

I took one look at that and one phrase dropped into my head.

"All looks fine Mr Banks, now pop your clothes back on and we'll weigh you"

Thank you, everyone! All great suggestions and now to find the right combination of inexpensive and effective. I think they would all work great, especially with the wood floors and footfall sounds.

And thank you, Phillip, for making me laugh. Smile

I use these below on every microphone I own once the factory one breaks. (they always do). Effective. Cheap. I also own the 8410, and the enhanced audio m600 mounts..
