Hullo friends!

A few of you may have heard this on Facebook and chimed in already. I thought I'd share it on here to gather any other thoughts you fine folks have.

Here is the 1:35 version:

Now the 2:30 version:

I'm thinking that for most the 2:30 will be a bit too long. What do you think?

The demo was produced by Elley-Ray Hennessy and Darryl Hogan in Toronto.

Thanks for listening!

Sounds great, Matt! I do prefer the shorter one though (longer one was great too, but I think the short one sums it up better and has a better flow to it). Just my 2 cents Wink

I'd take the shorter one and remove the first 30 seconds and use that. The first part is full of small squeaks and squeaky voices which are not as important as more developed characters later in the demo. And while a fair percentage of your potential listeners won't mind the "ball sack" line, some might and why un-impress them early on?

You could also take the 2:30 and remove the squeaky and really short bits and farts and such and make a dynamite 1:00 or so demo. Oh, and only one Australian? I'm thinking a second, different Aussie line might be really appropriate seeing as you speak the lingo.

Matt, and everyone who wants to get into animation, I highly recommend seeing and applying Bob Bergen's advice in this current thread, especially when it comes to demo creation:

Thank you all for your kind and helpful feedback.

Bruce, I appreciate you taking the time to drill in make those suggestions.
There are actually two Aussie voices in the 1:30; I'm not sure which one you picked up on - probably the later one. My markets are Vancouver/Toronto so it was important to show that I can lose the accent. However, I'm totally in agreeance with you on showcasing the authentic Aussie stuff.

I might end up with a few different cuts that I use for different purposes. Agents/producers etc. in different markets and facets seem to have a variety of preferences. When in doubt, I will probably err on the side of brevity. Smile

Thanks also for linking to that killer entry from Bob!
