|
|
Hi everyone!
I've put off updating my narration demo long enough . My original demo was done in 2003 and I'm sick of it to the point that I don't even like sending it out anymore, so...I made a new one based on actual work. I'd love some input before I start replacing the old one on the Interwebs.
Also, I'm not sure if I should call it a narration demo. It's a mix between web explainers, in-store videos, and exhibit narration.
New one (first draft):

Here's the old one in case you want to hear a comparison:

Thanks in advance!!

Fran, I'm not sure I've even heard your voice before and I just love it. You seem to have a 'timeless' voice age that can stretch from young and trendy on up to dependable mom.
I like the demo, but the ONLY very, very minor recommendation I'd make is to maybe swap out byte #2 with #3. As you went from the first cut to the second, the delivery and pacing was SO SIMILAR it didn't really showcase range. As I was listening to the second cut, I was thinking "Hmmm, wish I heard a SMILE in her voice" and then, voila, as if on cue, there was that smile in your third byte. I think we need to hear THAT, and the variety it brings with it, a bit sooner.
Other than that....... You are a delight to listen to! _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Thanks so much for the kind words and the feedback, Scott...I appreciate it
I hear what you are saying now (that's why a second set of ears is always great!) and am going to make that change. Thanks!!

+1 on what Scott wrote.
You have one of those voices that are very easy to listen to. Nice job!
All the best,

Yeah Fran, this rocks. It might be Corporate Narration, and it's a blend of e-learning and explainer.
I'd call it "Dress Casual Corporate". Whatever it is, it's great! _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Yep. I like the new one much better.
Much fuller sounding.
I think your voice has matured a bit.
Delicious Ear Candy.
(are you using a different mic?) _________________ "I reserve the right to be completely wrong." |

Well, since I'm not much of an expert on anything, I can't give you
much constructive criticism.
But, I do know what I like and I likes your voice and presentation.
I believe I could listen to you reading the phone directory ( remember those?).
Say there's and idea. Include a selection from the directory. No?
Nice demo, kiddo. _________________ Roger Tremaine

Clutter...the first one was done in a studio in 2003 when I was first starting out and the second is comprised of actual work, but yes...different mic too _________________ Back into the murky lurk from whence I came
