|
|
I was asked what my rate would be for 3 30-second TV spots for a 26 week run in a Medium market in Michigan. Considering all of those factors, I said around $750. Haven't gotten back a reply and it's been a couple of days.
Too high? What do you think. |

Using the SAG-AFTRA numbers (and depending on the definition of "medium market") a single spot for 13 weeks comes out to roughly $700 all inclusive of H&R, agent, etc. (all part of the client's cost)... so $4,200 or so for the union version of this gig. I do not think you are overcharging!

One TV VO in a larger market goes for about $375 for 3 months, so $750 for a 6 month run. Multiply by 3 and we're looking at $2250. Drop a peg or two if they really are "medium" markets (whatever that is) and you still should be asking way north of $750.

Hey everyone, what do we consider medium vs. small market? For example, Kalamazoo has 700k households, but Lansing only has 240k. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

I live in Kalamazoo and can tell you the local producers pay between $150 to $350 for a :30 TV spot. It just depends on the client and the production house. At least that's been my experience. Grand Rapids will garner more, sometimes a LOT more. |

This is Grand Rapids.
This is why I prefer to do this kind of thing through agents, but I have no representation in that part of the country.
Thanks everybody for the input. |
