From today's onslaught.
As it came from the station AE (in spite of the NO PERSONAL PRONOUNS Rule, but that's hardly the problem!) :
AT ABC TRAVEL OUR PROMISE TO YOU
WHEN YOUR JOURNEY FROM A DREAM TO A GREAT STORY INCLUDES US YOU TRAVEL BETTER.
Even adding punctuation:
At ABC Travel , their promise to you:
When your journey— from a dream to a great story— includes them, you travel better.
it still sucks. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I like it! It sounded like an NPR sponsorship read cold on the air. |

One of my favorite taglines... "You've just got to put Mercury on your list".
Don't buy it....just put it somewhere on your list....
By the way, it comes with a "no-charge" CD player and moonroof. I know I am tired of getting out the battery charger to power up the moonroof and the CD player.
Editttttted twice because I can't type todae _________________ Ben

Now that's a great( - er- better?) line. Sounds like the State of Utah's marketing campaign a few years ago: "Utah, a pretty great state".
Definately a superb set of LoveNotes (NOT!).
Oh well, they must know something we don't - they actually get paid to think up these branding lines...

I wonder if you can get Workers Comp Insurance to cover that!

and this is why it's so hard to avoid one of the most obvious pitfalls of the profession...
not commenting on the crappy copy laid before you in a session
for me, some of the stuff that I've done a VO for has just screamed "this sucks" when reading. Especially when they get into technical details.
Thankfully most of my repeat clients quickly realized (and put to use) some non-acting skills (such as the numerous certifications and formal education in IT and infosec, technical writing, etc.).
Though I did have a group session once where the other talent lost her composure and railed on for a bit about the horrible writing of the copy (and it was definitely a stinker). Sadly, the writer was in the room... haven't seen her in another session for quite some time. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

Well, Yeah...DUH...not when you're IN the session!
...but outside a session, in the company of fellow VOs who "get-it"...

And yet we still see so many VAs who do it regardless... _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser
